Directory standards & listing disclosures

How listings appear, what our labels mean, and what you should independently confirm before choosing care.

Where listing information comes from

Our directory may include records derived from public treatment-directory data as well as information supplied or updated by treatment providers and advertisers. Facility details can change. A listing on RehabNearMe USA is not an endorsement or a guarantee that a program is appropriate for you.

Provider-managed profiles

A “Provider-Managed Profile” label means the provider can manage or update its profile on RehabNearMe USA. The label does not mean RehabNearMe USA has independently certified clinical quality, outcomes, accreditation, licensure, ownership, or insurance-network participation.

How listings are ordered

Providers can purchase enhanced listings and priority placement. Paid listings may appear above standard listings, and homepage placements are labeled “Sponsored” or “Featured.” Within the same placement tier, profiles with more complete directory information — such as a description, direct contact details, treatment types, and a real facility image — may appear before less complete profiles. Neither paid placement nor profile completeness is a clinical ranking or a measure of safety, quality, outcomes, accreditation, or suitability.

What to verify yourself

Before admission, confirm current licensure or certification with the appropriate state or federal authority, verify the services and level of care directly with the program, and confirm insurance network status and benefits with both the facility and your insurer.

Independent treatment resources

For an independent federal treatment locator, SAMHSA operates FindTreatment.gov. RehabNearMe USA is an independent directory and is not affiliated with SAMHSA, HHS, CMS, or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
